“Does Jesus hear and answer us when we pray?” This question popped up in Bible Study one Sunday morning. My immediate response was, “Yes, He does!” Having seen Jesus in many visions over the preceding three years and receiving answers to my many prayers, I couldn’t possibly respond any other way. Then suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, a fellow believer hit me with two very thought-provoking questions. “It is easy for you to say yes, He does, because you have been through it a few times and came out all right, but, how do we advise someone who is just starting out that God will be with him and will answer his prayers? How can we tell him to trust that Jesus will be there with him when he goes through the trials and tribulations in life?”
I was momentarily taken aback by this challenge and the rest of that Bible Study became a blur as I reflected on my journey with Jesus and how He is ever present for me. All day long, I ruminated on those questions! Later that evening I sat in front of my computer and started detailing my major struggles and triumphs through faith in Jesus. My thoughts immediately started flowing like a river and for the next several months got me up before dawn to write. In the quietness of the early mornings while my family sleeps, and 12 months after I first began, my writings blossomed into my own beautiful and inspirational memoir.
I remember one night I got to bed very late and so the next morning I struggled to get out of bed. As I lay there, I heard a voice very gently speak my name. I immediately bounced out of bed and raced to resume my writing. Was that the voice of God or that of an angel? I believe it was the gentle and loving voice of Jesus giving me strength to accomplish the task set before me. It also made me realize that Jesus was my source of inspiration as I became very intimately aware of His warm presence and the fire of the Holy Spirit burning passionately within my heart as I put my thoughts into writing.
I was finally ready and very excited to submit my manuscript to my publisher when the voice of reason asked me to delay until we have more funds available for self-publishing. I knelt down in prayer and asked God for direction. That night, in a vision, Jesus placed two tall crystal-clear glass cylinders of water before me and two in front of my daughter, Ashley, and with great urgency in His voice said, “Quick! We need to get these to everyone in order for them to be caught up in the rapture!” Jesus spoke, I listened and obeyed and He made a way. Beholding His Glory is like a fountain of healing waters! Feel free to partake of its special treasures and receive healing for your aching hearts.
