How does one even begin to come to terms with the catastrophic flooding and the awful aftermath caused by Hurricane Harvey down in Houston and surrounding neighborhoods in Texas this past week? This flooding of biblical proportion is unprecedented in Texas and historic within all of the United States. No one expected this to happen here, ever! Rainfalls accumulations of more than 50 inches submerging countless homes and businesses, water running like rivers in the city streets and freeways with street lights barely visible above the waters of the flood are unheard of within the U.S.
More than 100,000 homes have been affected by Hurricane Harvey! The death toll so far has risen to more than 40 with the promise of more as the flood waters slowly recede. Some 30,000 individuals have been flooded out of their homes and crammed in 230 overcrowded shelters throughout Texas with no idea as to how soon before they will be able to get out of these shelters and back into their own homes, that is, what is left of them. Many of them may not even have a home to return to.
My heart truly aches for all these unfortunate victims of this massive and devastating hurricane and for all those whose loved ones have drowned in the flood waters. I thank God for the many individuals nationwide who are working together daily to help these unfortunate victims who have been misplaced from their homes. Catastrophes such as this never fail to bring people together, to stir up love and affection for one another, and to remind us that we need to call upon God for help and that He will always be there to help us. May the souls of all those who have died rest in peace.
This history making hurricane supports my new book, The Joys of Heaven: Part 1: Every Day with Jesus, in which I shared a dream in which I heard the announcement, “Three more years before the end of the world as we know it!” The Joys of Heaven was published in July, just a few weeks before the flood of Texas, and just a month shy of one year since the dream in September 2016.
I believe that Hurricane Harvey was God’s way of confirming this dream and the many others that I have shared in The Joys of Heaven which was also given to me by God in yet another dream when Jesus spoke to me saying, “I have placed some books inside of you. You will need to vomit them up.”
I believe that Hurricane Harvey is simply the beginning of a series of devastating and catastrophic events worldwide, both natural and man-made, that will take place over the next two years and which will forever change the world “as we know it.” My advice to one and all, watch and pray. The worst is yet to come!
